People with autism and intellectual disabilities, much like individuals with typical development, share a fundamental right and aspiration to realise their own life projects. However, this natural pursuit is uniquely challenging for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities due to their communication and adaptive hurdles. This growing need has prompted the development of a specific procedure for crafting life projects geared toward enhancing their quality of life. In the present work, we will describe the six key steps and the corresponding assessment, support, and verification tools essential for establishing and actualising the life project for individuals with disabilities, as conceptualised by the Italian Society of Neurodevelopmental Disorders (SIDIN). We will start by delineating diverse preference and value assessment procedures, showcasing an array of tools tailored to accommodate the distinct characteristics of adaptive and communicative functioning in individuals with disabilities. Following this, we will provide a succinct overview of support needs assessment tools. Subsequently, we will introduce the Ecological Life Balance, which serves as an integrative tool for harmonising various assessment systems. We will propose methods for defining existential goals that prioritise quality of life and suggest strategies for implementing support plans. Lastly, we will delve into the methodologies for monitoring and verifying outcomes in the final section.

Introduction: Obesity during childhood is a serious and growing chronic disease with consequences for lifelong health. In an effort to advance research into the preclinical indicators of pediatric obesity, we examined longitudinal assessments of uric acid concentrations in saliva among a cohort of healthy children from age 6-months to 12-years (n's per assessment range from 294 to 727). Methods: Using data from a subsample of participants from the Family Life Project (an Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes Program cohort), we: (1) characterized salivary uric acid (sUA) concentrations from infancy to early adolescence by sex and race; (2) assessed changes in sUA levels across development; and (3) evaluated associations between sUA concentrations and measures of child weight, height, and body mass index (BMI). Across four assessments conducted at 6-, 24-, 90-, and 154-months of age, 2,000 saliva samples were assayed for UA from 781 participants (217 participants had sUA data at all assessments). Results: There were no significant differences in sUA concentrations by sex at any assessment, and differences in sUA concentrations between White and non-White children varied by age. At the 90- and 154-month assessments, sUA concentrations were positively correlated with measures of child weight, height, and BMI (90-month: weight- ρ(610) = 0.13, p < 0.01; height- ρ(607) = 0.10, p < 0.05; BMI- ρ(604) = 0.13, p < 0.01; 154-month: weight- ρ(723) = 0.18, p < 0.0001; height- ρ(721) = 0.10, p < 0.01; BMI- ρ(721) = 0.17, p < 0.0001). Group based trajectory modeling identified two groups of children in our sample with distinct patterns of sUA developmental change. The majority (72%) of participants showed no significant changes in sUA across time ("Stable" group), while 28% showed increases in sUA across childhood with steep increases from the 90- to 154-month assessments ("Increasing" group). Children in the Increasing group exhibited higher sUA concentrations at all assessments (6-month: t(215) = -5.71, p < 0.001; 24-month: t(215) = -2.89, p < 0.01; 90-month: t(215) = -3.89, p < 0.001; 154-month: t(215) = -19.28, p < 0.001) and higher weight at the 24- and 90-month assessments (24-month: t(214) = -2.37, p < 0.05; 90-month: t(214) = -2.73, p < 0.01). Discussion: Our findings support the potential utility of sUA as a novel, minimally-invasive biomarker that may help advance understanding of the mechanisms underlying obesity as well as further surveillance and monitoring efforts for pediatric obesity on a large-scale.

This study examined the relationship between two variables of the psychological future [future time orientation (FTO) and life project (LP)] and their relationship with career self-efficacy in unemployed individuals. Participants were 216 unemployed adults (151 women, 65 men), aged from 18 to 67 years old (M = 42.8, SD = 10.57), who responded to measures of distance and impact of future time orientation, identification and involvement in life project and career exploration and decision-making self-efficacy. Results of latent mediation analysis and correlational analysis indicated that there is a direct effect between FTO and LP, but also an indirect (i.e., mediating) effect between them through career self-efficacy beliefs. These findings suggest that unemployed individuals with a stronger sense of future time orientation are more likely to identify and engage with their life projects, and that this organization of their life projects is mediated by their levels of career self-efficacy. Overall, the study provides important insights into the psychological factors that can impact the careers behaviors of unemployed individuals, as well as on the characteristics of career psychological interventions with this public.

Background: The Mosaic project is a socio-health integration model that promotes the personal recovery of people with severe mental illness in a territory of Central Catalonia: the Bages region. The recovery approach in mental health care promotes meaningful activities and social inclusion for people with mental health disorders. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the level of meaningful activities and other factors associated with the mental health recovery model. Methods: A cross-sectional design was used. Participants (n = 59) signed an informed consent and completed the following standardized instruments: Engagement in Meaningful Activities Survey; The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale; Hert Hope Scale; and Recovery Assessment Scale. Results: A Pearson correlation test was performed between the level of meaningful activities and life satisfaction, resilience, hope, and recovery. These data indicate that the amount of meaningful activities are strongly associated with variables related to the personal recovery process from mental health problems. Conclusions: The integration process of MOSAIC confirms the need to accompany the recovery processes through significant occupations.

This study compared the psychological future of unemployed individuals and workers during the Covid-19 pandemic. It used the data from two previous data collections, one with unemployed individuals and another with workers. Participants from the two datasets were paired considering the same gender and similar age and education degree. The analyzed sample consisted of 352 participants, of which 176 were unemployed individuals and 176 were workers. The psychological future was measured by the Future Time Orientation Scale and the Life Project Scale. Both scales fit the sample of unemployed individuals and were invariant at the metric level across occupation status. Partial scalar model met good fit after freeing the intercepts of one item in each scale. In contrast to the hypothesis, compared to workers, unemployed individuals did not have lower rates in the assessed features of their psychological future. Conversely, for some variables, the rates were even higher among unemployed individuals. Unexpected results and limitations are discussed. A crise gerada pela pandemia da covid-19 vem impactando o mundo do trabalho e os(as) adultos(as) emergentes estão se configurando como um dos grupos que será mais afetado no pós-pandemia, pois irão reconstruir esse mundo e ditar as tendências para seu futuro. Assim, este artigo propôs uma revisão narrativa que legitimasse a importância do estudo das construções de carreira de adultos(as) emergentes no pós-pandemia e as potenciais implicações para a orientação profissional e de carreira (OPC). Para tal, identificou o cenário para potenciais agendas de pesquisa pós-pandemia no campo de estudos do trabalho e sistematizou o estado da arte de estudos sobre construção da carreira de adultos(as) emergentes no Brasil, as lacunas de pesquisas e intervenções em OPC e os principais impactos gerados pela pandemia, destacando os impactos específicos para os(as) adultos(as) emergentes. Todas essas sistematizações apontaram a necessidade de estudar a vida de trabalho desse grupo, que se encontra sub-representado nos estudos de trabalho em geral, com destaque para o campo da OPC, e que, potencialmente, deve sofrer consequências significativas e relevantes no pós-pandemia


The crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic has been impacting the working world, and emerging adults are shaping up to be one of the groups that will be most affected post-pandemic, since they will reconstruct this world and dictate trends for the future. Thus, this article proposed a narrative review for legitimizing the importance of studying emerging adult career constructions in the post-pandemic and the potential implications for career guidance and counseling (CGC). To this end, the article identified the scenario for potential post-pandemic research agendas of the working studies field and systematized the state of the art of studies on career construction of emerging adults in Brazil, the gaps in research and interventions in CGC, and the main impacts generated by the pandemic, highlighting the specific impacts for emerging adults. All these systematizations stressed the need to study the working lives of this group, which is under-represented in working studies in general, mainly in the CGC field, and which, potentially may suffer significant and relevant consequences in the post-pandemic

Introducción: el embarazo adolescente hace referencia a toda gestación que ocurre durante la adolescencia y comprende las mujeres de hasta 19 años. Irrumpe la vida de las adolescentes en momentos que no alcanzan la madurez física ni mental, con carencias nutricionales y enfermedades. Las causas son amplias y complejas, variando entre distintos grupos culturales y étnicos. Para los investigadores es importante conocer la forma de pensar de las jóvenes y madres respecto a embarazos en adolescentes, como construyen los sentidos y significaciones alrededor de embarazos a temprana edad, qué factores intervienen, de qué modo se puede educar a la población joven y adulta ante esta problemática que irrumpe con su proyecto de vida. Material y métodos: enfoque metodológico cualitativo descriptivo, con visión holística histórico-etnográfico, dado que se pretende conocer la manera de pensar de las adolescentes del estado de Guerrero en la región montaña alta ante un embarazo y las posibles causas de la misma. Resultados: el binomio revela que la falta de recursos económicos, educación, costumbres y tradiciones son las principales causas de un embarazo precoz y deserción escolar en la montaña Alta de Guerrero. Consideraciones finales: desde el término EMIC se manifiesta desacuerdo por el embarazo adolescente, se visualiza la incapacidad de las participantes para desarrollar el rol de crianza y educación, se refleja con ETIC la inmadurez física y psicológica de las adolescentes para adquirir la responsabilidad de una mujer adulta, el proyecto de vida se ve estancado en el mismo padrón de los padres.


Introduction: adolescent pregnancy refers to any gestation that occurs during adolescence and includes women up to 19 years of age. It bursts into the lives of adolescents at times when they do not reach physical or mental maturity, with nutritional deficiencies and illnesses. The causes are broad and complex, varying among different cultural and ethnic groups. For researchers, it is important to know the way of thinking of young women and mothers regarding teenage pregnancies, how they build meanings and meanings around early pregnancies, what factors intervene, how the young and adult population can be educated before this problem that bursts with his life project. Material and methods: the present investigation has a descriptive qualitative methodological approach, with a holistic historical-ethnographic vision, since it is intended to know the way of thinking of adolescents from the state of Guerrero in the high mountain region before a pregnancy and the possible causes of it. Results: the binomial reveals that the lack of economic resources, education, customs and traditions are the main causes of early pregnancy and school dropout in the High Mountain of Guerrero. Final considerations: the term EMIC shows disagreement with adolescent pregnancy, the inability of the participants to develop the role of upbringing and education, the physical and psychological immaturity of the adolescents to acquire the responsibility of an adult woman is reflected in ETIC, the life project is stagnated in the same pattern of the parents.

This article aims at describing the tensions arising from working on and with someone in psychiatry, in order to make this person more "autonomous". First, through the example of the recovery, it acknowledges, the normative horizon of what is considered today as "good care": a negotiation between partners, aiming at increasing the possibilities for everyone to follow their own lifestyle. It then seeks to describe how this definition of good care is endorsed and applied in two institutions (in Belgium and in France) hosting people with severe mental health issues where the care teams are using three words ("contract", "project" and "autonomy"). The article analyses the difficulties encountered while putting into practice these demanding ideals and shows how and to what end the care teams take action in defining the "good" projects and, in a more general way, what patients can or should expect from themselves and from their future.

Exposure to child-directed parental aggression in early life has been found to increase the risk of later psychopathological symptoms among children and adolescents. However, little is known about intermediate phenotypes and the developmental progression of symptoms, especially across the transition to grade school. Using prospectively collected longitudinal data from a large sample of children enrolled in the Family Life Project (n = 1,166, 49.7% female), the current study examined the mediating role of early dissociative symptoms in the relations between parental aggression and children's psychopathological symptoms. Children's exposure to parental aggression and their dissociative symptoms before school entry were assessed based on primary caregivers' reports. Teacher ratings of children's internalizing and externalizing symptoms were collected in pre-kindergarten as well as in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades. Results showed that dissociative symptoms before school entry partially mediated the association between parental aggression and persistent externalizing symptoms in school years. However, no significant associations were found between parental aggression or dissociative symptoms and internalizing symptoms. Findings suggest that dissociative symptoms manifested early in life serve as a mediating mechanism and indicator of risk for persistent impulsivity and behavioral problems. Thus, these symptoms could be an important target of preventive services provided to children with adverse experiences in their families.

Objective@#The universal newborn hearing screening program has been implemented in the Philippines for the past ten years. However, screening rates in the country are still low. The current study aimed to describe the universal newborn hearing screening program (UNHSP) delivery system in Rizal, Philippines, and Northern California. @*Methods@#The study utilized a case study research design using data triangulation of FGD, KII, and document review to characterize and compare the implementation of the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program in Rizal Province and Northern California. @*Results@#Several differences were found in the protocols for newborn hearing screening in Rizal, Philippines, and Northern California, including centralization of the program, availability of surveillance data, screening protocols, and tracking system. @*Conclusion@#There is an immense need to disseminate universal newborn hearing screening among healthcare practitioners and create a system to monitor and evaluate real-time data.

Trabalho decente é um conceito proposto pela Organização Internacional do Trabalho (OIT) com base nos contextos de trabalho dos países desenvolvidos e em fatores socioeconômicos. A psicologia e os países do Sul global podem contribuir na ampliação do conceito. Assim, fundamentados na pesquisa qualitativa consensual e por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas em profundidade, visamos compreender as concepções de trabalho decente de 20 jovens brasileiros/as com baixa qualificação a partir de uma leitura psicossocial com base na teoria da psicologia do trabalhar (PWT). Os principais resultados indicaram a compreensão de que o trabalho realizado pelos/as participantes não era um trabalho decente, não seria estruturante da vida, e que atenderia às necessidades de sobrevivência, mas impediria a autodeterminação. As implicações do estudo apontaram, em termos conceituais e políticos, para a necessidade de contextualizar a concepção de trabalho decente, agregando a ideia de versões distintas do trabalho decente, variando em função de contextos distintos, e reconstruir as práticas de orientação profissional, de carreira e de gestão de pessoas, de acordo com as características socioculturais do público-alvo, visando sua ampliação e diversificação. Decent work is a concept proposed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) based on working contexts from developed nations and on socioeconomic factors. Psychology and the global South countries may contribute to broaden the concept. Thus, grounded in the Consensual Qualitative Research and by means of in-depth interviews, this study sought to understand senses of decent work among 20 low-skilled youths in Brazil from a psychosocial reading based on the Psychology of Working Theory (PWT). Findings showed the sense that participants' working was not a decent work, not structuring life, and it met survival needs, however, prevented self-determination. In a conceptual and political way, study implications pointed out the need to contextualize the concept of decent work, aggregating the idea of different versions of decent work, varying according to different contexts. Moreover, practical implications highlighted the need to reconstruct career guidance and counseling practices and personnel management according to the socio-cultural characteristics of the target audience, aiming at expanding and diversifying them. El trabajo decente es un concepto propuesto por la Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT) basado en contextos de trabajo de países desarrollados y en factores socioeconómicos. La psicología y los países del Sur global pueden contribuir a ampliar el concepto. Por lo tanto, basado en la investigación cualitativa consensuada y mediante entrevistas en profundidad, este estudio buscó comprender los sentidos del trabajo decente entre 20 jóvenes poco calificados en Brasil a partir de una lectura psicosocial basada en la teoría de la psicología del trabajar (PWT). Los resultados mostraron que el trabajo de los participantes no era un trabajo decente, no estructuraba la vida, y satisfacía las necesidades de supervivencia, sin embargo, impedía la autodeterminación. De manera conceptual y política, las implicaciones del estudio señalaron la necesidad de contextualizar el concepto de trabajo decente, agregando la idea de diferentes versiones de trabajo decente, variando según los diferentes contextos. Además, las implicaciones prácticas destacaron la necesidad de reconstruir las prácticas asesoramiento profesional y gestión de personas de acuerdo con las características socioculturales del público objetivo, con el objetivo de ampliarlas y diversificarlas. Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as ferramentas utilizadas pelos profissionais que atuam na aplicação, execução e monitoramento do sistema socioeducativo para auxiliar na elaboração do projeto de vida dos jovens. A amostra foi composta por profissionais da execução e da gestão das medidas de meio aberto e meio fechado e do Sistema de Garantia de Direitos, sendo realizados três grupos de discussão, analisados por meio do MAXQDA. Foram apresentadas três categorias: o que temos, o que necessitamos e o que podemos fazer. Os dados alertaram para dificuldades enfrentadas por todos esses profissionais em sua atuação em relação à construção do projeto de vida, os quais indicaram a necessidade de melhoria das condições de trabalho e de capacitações e formações que promovam maior compreensão acerca das ferramentas a serem utilizadas nos espaços de atuação e que contribuam para a prática pedagógica necessária para a atuação.


This article aims to analyze the tools used by the professionals who work in the application, execution and monitoring of the socio-educational system to assist in the elaboration of life project for youth. The sample was composed of professionals of the execution and management of measures open and closed environment and the Rights Guarantee System, with tree discussion groups being carried out, analyzed through MAXQDA. Three categories were presented: what we have, what we need and what we can do. The data warned of difficulties faced by all these professionals in their work in relation to the construction of the life project, which indicated the need to improve working conditions and training that promote greater understanding of the tools to be used in the performance spaces and that contribute to the pedagogical practice necessary for the performance.

En este artículo teórico se revisan tres constructos implicados en una perspectiva salutogénica del ser humano y en la relación particular que mantiene con su propia vida: propósito o sentido en la vida, satisfacción con la vida y proyecto de vida. En primer lugar, se presenta una breve descripción de cada variable, para luego llegar a una articulación e integración entre ellas. Asimismo, se destaca el impacto que estos tres constructos psicológicos tienen en el desarrollo y devenir de la vida de cada persona, ya sea desde una perspectiva retrospectiva, presente o prospectiva(AU)


In this theoretical article, three constructs implied in a salutogenic perspective of the human being and in the particular relationship that it maintains with its own life are reviewed: purpose or meaning in life, life satisfaction and life project. Firstly, a brief description of each variable is presented, to later arrive at an articulation and integration between them. Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as contribuições dos programas de acompanhamento aos egressos de medida socioeducativa de internação para a construção do projeto de vida. Foi realizada uma pesquisa com nove jovens egressos em dois estados: Bahia e Rio Grande do Sul. Utilizou-se uma entrevista aberta individual e os dados foram analisados através da Análise Temática de Conteúdo, obtendo-se a posteriori as classes: Sentidos sobre a participação nos programas de acompanhamento aos egressos de MSE e Projetos de vida dos jovens. Identificou-se que os jovens elaboram sentidos positivos sobre a participação nos programas, considerando-os como possibilidade para mudar de vida, diferenciando-se do cumprimento da medida socioeducativa por não possuir uma dimensão sancionatória. Conclui-se que a participação nos programas de acompanhamento aos egressos de MSE representa a possibilidade dos jovens contarem com o auxílio das equipes técnicas para pensarem em seus planos para o futuro e adquirir os elementos necessários para efetivá-los.


Resumen El objetivo de este artículo es analizar las contribuciones de los programas de acompañamiento a los egresados de medida socioeducativa de internación para la construcción del proyecto de vida. Se realizó una investigación con nueve jóvenes en dos estados: Bahía e Rio Grande do Sul. Se utilizó una entrevista abierta individual y los datos fueron analizados a través del Análisis Temático de Contenido, obteniéndose, a posteriori, las clases: Sentidos sobre la participación en los programas de acompañamiento a los egresados ​​del MSE; y Proyectos de vida de los jóvenes. Se identificó que los jóvenes elaboran sentidos positivos sobre la participación en los programas, considerándolos como posibilidad para cambiar de vida, diferenciándose del cumplimiento de una medida socioeducativa por no tener una dimensión sancionadora. Se concluye que la participación en los programas de acompañamiento a los egresados ​​de medidas socioeducativas representa la posibilidad de que los jóvenes cuenten con la ayuda de los equipos técnicos para pensar en sus planes para el futuro y adquirir los elementos necesarios para efectivarlos.


Abstract The aim of this article is to analyze the contributions of follow-up programs for socio-educational measures egresses to the construction of a life project. A research was carried out with nine egressing teenagers in two states: Bahia and Rio Grande do Sul. An individual, open interview was performed and the data was analyzed based on Thematic Content Analysis, obtaining later on the following categories: Feelings about the participation in the follow-up programs for socio-educational measures egresses, and the Life Projects of these teenagers. It was identified that the teenagers develop positive feelings about their participation in the follow-up programs, considering them as a possibility for life change by differing from a socio-educational measure for not having a sanctifying dimension. The research concluded that the participation in follow-up programs for SEM egresses represent for the teenagers a possibility to count with the help of technical teams to think through their plans for the future and to acquire the necessary elements to fulfill them.

Resumo Objetivo Investigar fatores associados à construção de projeto de vida pós-trabalho em servidores do Instituto Federal do Tocantins e verificar temas de interesse para elaboração de um Programa de Preparação para a Aposentadoria. Método Tratou-se de um estudo exploratório, de natureza quantitativa e de corte transversal. Foram entrevistados 94 servidores dentre técnicos administrativos e docentes, que estavam com 5, 10 e 15 anos para se aposentarem. Os participantes foram avaliados por meio de questionário sociodemográfico, QWLQbref questionário de avaliação da qualidade de vida no trabalho (QVT) e Escala dos Fatores-Chave de Planejamento para a Aposentadoria (KFRP). Resultados Houve correlações estatisticamente significantes e positivas entre o subdomínio psicológico de QVT e o Fator Risco ou Sobrevivência, e entre o domínio profissional de QVT e o Fator Relacionamentos Familiares. O grupo de profissionais com 5 a 10 anos para se aposentar apresentou a maior média no domínio psicológico de QVT (p=0,039). Participantes do sexo feminino focalizaram mais o novo começo profissional do que os homens (p=0,023), e participantes sem companheiro(a) apresentaram menor pontuação no item relacionamento familiar como fator de planejamento pós-aposentadoria (p=0,027). Das temáticas para o Planejamento de Programa para Aposentadoria, destacaram-se: planejamento financeiro (13%), legislação específica sobre aposentadoria (11%), e entretenimento e qualidade de vida (7%). Conclusão O planejamento para aposentadoria associou-se a qualidade de vida relacionada ao trabalho, sexo e estado conjugal. Essas variáveis, em conjunto com as temáticas propostas pelos servidores, podem contribuir para o planejamento de um Programa de Preparação para a Aposentadoria.


Abstract Objective To investigate factors associated with creating a post-work life project with workers from the Federal Institute of Tocantins, and check topics of interest to create a Retirement Preparation Program. Method This was an exploratory, quantitative, and cross-sectional study. The respondents were 94 civil servants among administrative technicians and scholars who would retire in 5, 10 and 15 years. Participants were assessed using a sociodemographic questionnaire - the QWLQbref questionnaire - to assess the quality of work life (QWL), and the Key Factors for Retirement Planning (KFRP) Scale. Results There were statistically significant and positive correlations between the psychological subdomain of QWL and the Risk Factor or Survival, and between the professional domain of QWL and the Family Relationships Factor. The group of professionals to be retired in 5 to 10 years had the highest average in the psychological domain of QWL (p=0.039). Female participants focused more on the new professional beginning than men (p=0.023), and participants without a partner had a lower score in the item 'family relationship' as a post-retirement planning factor (p=0.027). Among the topics for the Planning of the Retirement Program, the following stand out: financial planning (13%), specific legislation on retirement (11%), and entertainment and quality of life (7%). Conclusion Retirement planning was associated with the quality of life related to work, gender, and marital status. These variables together with the topics proposed by the servants can contribute to the planning of a Retirement Preparation Program.

O Esta pesquisa avalia o projeto de vida de adolescentes e sua relação com a percepção e tendência à autorrealização. Utilizou-se um Questionário de Propósito e outro de Perfil, com 507 sujeitos dos sexos femino e masculino, entre 12 e 17 anos, escolarizados, da cidade de Santos/SP. Como hipótese, aponta-se que as conquistas do amadurecimento pessoal contribuem para um autoconceito positivo, tornando a autorrealização uma parte importante da formação da personalidade. A linha teórica centra-se na Psicologia Moral, articulada às discussões filosóficas e sociológicas sobre ética, valores morais e desenvolvimento humano. Os resultados apontam um apreço à subjetividade, ao sentimento de insegurança e de autoafirmação. A hipótese foi confirmada parcialmente, pois os sujeitos demonstraram que estabelecem propósitos e planos para suas vidas, que se percebem potencialmente transformadores, mas que ainda estão muito voltados ao contexto privado, às necessidades materiais e ao apego familiar.


En esta investigación se evalúa el proyecto de vida de adolescentes y su relación con la percepción y tendencia a la autorrealización. This research evaluates the life project of adolescents and its relationship with the perception and tendency to self-realization. A Purpose Questionnaire and a Profile Questionnaire were used, with 507 female and male sbjects between 12 and 17 years old, educated, in the city of Santos/SP. As a hypothesis, it is pointed out that the achievements of personal maturation contribute to a positive self-concept, making self-realization an important part of personality formation. The theoretical line focuses on Moral Psychology, articulated with philosophical and sociological discussions on ethics, moral values and human development. The results show an appreciation for subjectivity, the feeling of insecurity and self-assertion. The hypothesis was partially confirmed, as the subjects demonstrated that they establish purposes and plans for their lives, which they perceive as potentially transforming, but that they are still very much focused on the private context, material needs and family attachment.

RESUMO

Este artigo objetivou comparar dois grupos de adolescentes - escolares e socioeducandos - quanto à reprovação e expulsão da escola e às expectativas quanto ao futuro. Participaram do estudo 146 adolescentes (73 estudantes de escolas públicas e 73 socioeducandos) com idades entre 12 e 21 anos (M=16,53; DP=1,56). Os participantes responderam ao Questionário Juventude Brasileira, que avalia fatores de risco e proteção ao desenvolvimento. Os dados foram analisados por meio do programa estatístico Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), sendo efetuadas análises descritivas e inferenciais. Os resultados indicaram que os socioeducandos apresentam escolaridade mais baixa, vivenciaram mais a experiência de reprovação e expulsão da escola e têm expectativas mais baixas com relação ao estudo e ao trabalho. Conclui-se que o contexto escolar é um importante ambiente de promoção do desenvolvimento saudável durante a adolescência, sendo crucial no estabelecimento de ações preventivas e de enfrentamento da transgressão juvenil. Destarte, o acesso e a permanência dos adolescentes na escola, assim como o estabelecimento e a manutenção de expectativas positivas quanto ao futuro acadêmico e profissional, devem ser encorajados.


This study aimed to compare failure and expulsion from the school and expectations about the future in two groups of adolescents - students and law-offenders. Participants were 146 adolescents (73 students from public schools and 73 law-offenders) aged between 12 and 21 years (M=16.53, SD=1.56). Participants answered the Brazilian Youth Questionnaire, which assesses risk and protective factors for development. The data were analyzed through the statistical program Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), and descriptive and inferential analyses were performed. Results showed that the law-offender adolescents had lower education levels, experienced more school failure and expulsion, and had lower expectations regarding study and work. It is concluded that the school setting is an important environment for promoting healthy development during adolescence, being a crucial context for preventive and coping actions related to juvenile offense. Access and permanence of adolescents in school, as well as the establishment and maintenance of positive expectations for educational and professional future should be encouraged.

Resumo O objetivo desta pesquisa qualitativa foi compreender a influência da passagem por uma casa-abrigo na reconstrução do projeto de vida de mulheres brasileiras ex-abrigadas por situação de violência extrema. Foram entrevistadas, em dois momentos, seis mulheres que estiveram abrigadas em uma casa-abrigo da região Sul do Brasil. Os dados foram organizados e analisados com base na Grounded Theory e com auxílio do software Atlas.ti 7.0. Os resultados mostraram que durante a passagem pela casa-abrigo houve dificuldades iniciais, tais como sensação de aprisionamento, dificuldade de adaptação às regras e o fato de não terem notícias do que acontecia fora do local. Por outro lado, as participantes mencionaram que a experiência de abrigamento foi um momento de aprendizado, reflexões e desenvolvimento da autonomia e autoconfiança. Isto as auxiliou na reconstrução dos seus projetos de vida em nível relacional, afetivo, profissional e de saúde, desenvolvendo estratégias para enfrentar situações difíceis em seu cotidiano. Considera-se necessário o aperfeiçoamento das políticas públicas por meio da criação de espaços efetivos nas casas-abrigo que forneçam elementos para a reconstrução dos projetos de vida das mulheres e do seu acompanhamento após saírem da casa-abrigo, visando à prevenção da violência.


Abstract The aim of this qualitative research was to analyze the influence of the passage for a shelter in the process of reconstruction of life project of ex-sheltered women ex-sheltered by situation of extreme violence. A group of six women who were housed in a shelter were interviewed. Data analysis was performed through the Grounded Theory together with Atlas.ti 7.0 software. The results showed that in the passage through the shelter there were initial difficulties, such as a feeling of imprisonment, difficulty in adapting to the rules and the not knowing about what happened outside the place. On the other hand, the participants mentioned that the shelter experience was a moment of learning, reflections and development of autonomy and self-confidence. This assisted them in the reconstruction of their life projects in relational, affective, professional and health level, developing strategies to face difficult situations in their daily life. It is necessary to improve public policies through the development of effective spaces in shelters that provide elements for the reconstruction of women's life projects and their follow-up after leaving the shelter with a view to preventing violence.
